Hedge Your Bets Pilot Study
As part of the Hedge Your Bets program evaluation, students at Lethbridge College have been invited to participate in a pilot study. In this pilot study, participants completed each of the four content module quizzes that are used in the Hedge Your Bets Program. This served the following purpose:
To contribute to the calculation of an average score for each module quiz (in conjunction with pilot studies conducted at other locations).
Once the pilot study is complete and the data has been analyzed, results will be posted on this page.
Are you a student looking for the Lethbridge College pilot study to participate?
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Hedge Your Bets pilot study. In this study, you will complete a survey that consists of four 8-question multiple-choice quizzes about gambling. You do not need to know anything about gambling; in fact, the less you know, the better! The purpose of these quizzes is to see what the average person knows about gambling, without any specific education on the topic. To participate, you must meet the following criteria:
Be 18 years old or older;
Be able to read in English;
Have access to the internet.
We know your time is valuable. This survey should only take you 10-15 minutes to complete. To thank you for your time, you can enter a draw to win one of ten $5 Tim Horton’s gift cards. The least we can do is buy you a coffee!!
If you would like to participate in the pilot study, simply click the button below to begin the study. You will be redirected to the survey in Qualtrics. You will have to read and agree to the consent form, then enter your email address for the gift card lottery. Then you can proceed with the study!
The Hedge Your Bets research study, including the pilot studies, have been funded by the Alberta Gambling Research Institute.
